​Designed in 1972 by Mary Featherston (in collaboration with Grant Featherston) and manufactured in Melbourne by Moderntone Furniture, the "Hob" chair is a Good Design Award-winning icon of Australian mid-century modernism. Crafted with turned timber frames and heavy black saddle leather sling upholstery with rear buckle tensioners, this rare set includes four side chairs and two carver armchairs.

Two frames (1 side chair, 1 carver) have already been fully stripped, hand-sanded, and finished in natural Osmo oil-wax to highlight the warm timber tones (as pictured in photos). The remaining four frames will be fully refinished to match. Original black saddle leather shows light-to-medium surface creasing, surface scratches, and authentic vintage wear.
• ​Functional Condition: 9/10. Structural timber frames, leather slings, and tension buckles remain fully intact, firm, and operational.
