Featherston button back contour chair A305H model fully restored Zepel boucle blue
An amazing single Featherston wingback chair, design by Grant Featherston from the 1950's which is an iconic Australian piece of designer history. This set has stood the test of time in all original condition (exept the fabric which has been reupholstered in a new blue Zepel boucle color (Cobalt Barbarossa) and the frame/legs (Kauri pine wood) have been reglued and in a stunning golden teak color. This is an authentic vintage chair displaying a superior level of quality and design including the original stamp as pictured. Fantastic wingback design distinctly 50’s but they’d also look great in a modern space. The shape of the back and the sweeping lines in the leg section looks amazing. ticks all the boxes stunning form, very comfortable, unique styling and durable construction.
Very Good condition chair have been restored with the legs sanded, reglued and stable. One of the legs needed reconstruction (top part only approx 10cm) but this has been expertly restored specifically new solid wood glued and blended in nicely with the original middle to bottom part). The seat and backrests have also been reupholstered in a beautiful blue boucle Zepel fabric.
Excellent, functionally no wobbles or warping in the frame, does not rock, structural damage one of the legs was evident but has been professionally outsourced and restored so it is as sturdy as they can get. The back rest is solid as is the seat/cushion which was also professionally outsourced given its wingback shape and mould.
