Featherston TY wingback chairs original 1950s grey Kvadrat wool fabric
An amazing original pair Featherston TY wingback chairs, design by Grant Featherston from the 1950's which is an iconic Australian piece of designer history. This set has stood the test of time in all original condition (exept the fabric which has been reupholstered in a new grey color (Maharam Divina Melange 120 Light Gray Wool Fabric) and the steel frame has been powder coated in stunning black satin color. These are authentic vintage chairs displaying a superior level of quality and design. They’re a fantastic design distinctly 50’s but they’d also look great in a modern space. The shape of the back and the sweeping lines in the leg section looks amazing. This pair ticks all the boxes stunning form, very comfortable, unique styling and durable construction.
Overall Condition:
Very Good condition both chairs have been restored with the steel frames been sprayed with powder coated and new rubber stops. The seat and backrests have also been reupholstered in a beatiful grey Kvadrat designer upholstery 100% wool. Unfortunately there is a small tear down the bottom as the fabric was reupholstered tight (currently we have reordered new fabric to fill-in those spots) so current price is reflective of this, however there is an option to reupholster new fabric and color of your choice (at additional cost) from Zepel fabrics.
Excellent, functionally no wobbles or warping in the frames, does not rock, no structural damage evident, sturdy as she can get. The back rests are solid as are the seat/cushion.
