​Designed in 1973 by Paolo Deganello (of the radical Archizoom design group) for Italian manufacturer Cassina, the AEO lounge chair is an icon of deconstructed mid-century modernism. Challenging traditional armchair manufacturing, the AEO breaks the lounge chair down into its core functional components: a sturdy base, a lightweight tubular steel frame, a plush seat cushion, and a tailored backrest that slips over the frame like a garment.

​Available to purchase individually in a newly upholstered ready-to-ship state, or as a blank canvas for a complete custom upholstery restoration.

• ​Option 2: Fully Upholstered (Custom Seat & Backrest)
  • ​A comprehensive premium workshop service. Includes full internal foam rebuilding for the seat, plus complete custom tailoring and reupholstery of both the seat cushion and the draped backrest in your choice of premium fabric or leather.
  • ​(Note: Option 2 purchase price covers the vintage frame and all workshop/upholstery labor per chair. Raw fabric or leather material costs are strictly additional and will be quoted and invoiced separately based on your specific selection).
