​1. Project Scope

​In-Scope (What Is Included)

  • Exact Design Reupholstery: Full reupholstery of all eight (8) Pascal Mourgue Biscia dining chairs using premium Italia Cuoi Suave leather in Merlot. The new leather slings will precisely match the original design shown in your reference media and Shopify links—honoring the exact shape, parallel ribbed horizontal stitching panels, side cutouts, and distinctive black edge piping/trim.
  • Hand-Polished Chrome Frames: All Z-shaped metal cantilever frames will be meticulously polished by hand (not machine polished) to clean away surface dirt, accumulated grime, and minor pitting, reviving the vintage chrome’s original luster.
  • The "Sample Chair" Step: Complete restoration of one (1) single Biscia chair first. This functions as a benchmark to confirm the layout, tension, and how the Italia Cuoi Merlot leather sets on the frame before starting on the remaining pieces.
  • Seat Spring Assessment & Fitting: We will assess the existing under-seat tension springs provided by the client. Where springs are missing or structurally compromised, we will source and fit suitable modern replacement springs to ensure correct seat tension and support.

​Out-of-Scope (What Is Excluded)

  • Cost of Replacement Springs: Sourcing and purchasing replacement springs is not included in the base labor/upholstery price. Because the exact original vintage springs are no longer manufactured, any suitable replacement hardware found will be billed as an additional material cost.
  • Severe Chrome / Rust Repair: Hand polishing will target surface grime and minor pitting, but it will not remove severe rust, deep pitting that has penetrated the chrome plating, or peeling/bubbling metal.
  • Structural Frame Repairs: Any structural welding or metal fabrication for the cantilever frames is excluded (highly unlikely to be required based on initial video evaluation).
  • Logistics: Pickup and delivery of the 8 dining chairs are not included in this scope.

​2. Timeline

  • Estimated Completion: Four (4) weeks from the date the initial 50% deposit is processed and the chairs are safely at our workshop.

​3. Quality Standards

  • Professional Benchmarks: All work will be performed to elite, commercial-grade professional upholstery standards.
  • Design Fidelity: The final product will strictly adhere to the original French manufacturing specifications by Steiner Meubles—ensuring the same structural tension, perfect stitch-line alignment, and tailored sling silhouette that makes the Biscia chair iconic.

​4. Pricing

  • Total Project Cost: Please refer to your personalized Shopify checkout link for final itemized pricing (exclusive of any additional replacement spring costs if required).
  • Taxes: All advertised and quoted prices are subject to GST, which will be calculated and applied at checkout.

​5. Terms of Payment

​To guarantee absolute peace of mind and ensure you are 100% happy with how the Italia Cuoi Merlot leather looks and sits on the Pascal Mourgue frame, we use a structured milestone process:

  • Step 1: The 50% Deposit To initiate the project, secure the specific Italia Cuoi hides, and book production time, a 50% deposit of the total project amount is required upfront via the provided Shopify checkout link.
  • Step 2: The Sample Chair Review Using that deposit, we will completely finish one (1) sample Biscia chair first. Once complete, we will upload high-definition photos and videos to a digital link for your review. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to visit the workshop in person to test the comfort, inspect the stitching, and see the Merlot leather on the frame.
  • Step 3: Project Completion & Balance Upon your digital or in-person approval of the sample chair, we will immediately proceed with the remaining seven (7) chairs under the exact same specifications. The final 50% balance (plus the final cost of any necessary replacement springs used across the set) is due upon completion prior to collection.
