Designed by Jakob Rudowski in Melbourne Australia circa 1965, A beautiful mid-century corner desk wall unit made by Melbourne furniture artisan Jakob Rudowski. Rudowski, like Dario Zoureff and Rosando Furniture, is one of the mid-century modern makers of Melbourne as a "Tier 1" Australian maker his furniture rarely comes to market and is highly collectable. Many of his Melbourne clients were mid-century modernist architects and designers.

This is one of our Holy Grail products...a one off, bespoke and very rare item. It has multiple uses and features including a wall unit, sideboard, working desk, turntable, radio, power plugs, LAN line phone sockets (I know right), roof lighting, feature wall piece and most importantly the wow factor. If you want to make a statement in your house or room this is it. Either install it as a 1) wall cavity (this is how it was originally designed and installed) or 2) free standing as we have it in a corner of a room (refer to our photos). We believe its silky oak, teak veneer, lovely ribbon/bow tie handles (a common characteristic of Rudowski work), gold (obv not real) shelving, lovely wood design/intricate detail along with hidden speakers on the "middle sideboard" section...it's really something else.

We recommend viewing it in person in our showroom alternatively we can arrange a video phone call. We can install for you (including power to lighting and audio visual areas) however if you are interstate we can recommend installers for this. We also highly recommend that you accurately measure the dimensions if you would like either the 1) wall cavity or 2) free standing installation options. This furniture would be an excellent addition to any Collector’s living area.

The previous owners were fastidious and kept this in excellent condition, obviously from 1965 there is signs of wear with scratches and veneer work, however we have restored as best as possible with putty on the areas where there is missing veneer, repainted the gold sections of the frames, and a good thorough clean (no need to sand and fully restored as such it underwent a light restoration). There is also a fully e restoration option at additional cost which would include the radio, amp and turntable (overhaul, replaced out of tolerance components, stylus etc)...this will last you another 50 years.

Excellent, functionally no wobbles or warping in the wood, does not rock, no structural damage evident, sturdy as she can get. We would rate this out of 10 but alas a 10 means its new and showroom condition, however all walls, screws, and fitting (including light and power features) all work. As per description this would need accurate installation of either wall cavity or free standing options
